I’m Jason, founder of SHEATH, and after speaking with hundreds of chefs around the world, I partnered with Glenn, a Massachusetts leather artisan, to craft a knife roll that lasts a career.

Prototype I
It all began as a blank canvas, no feedback, no measurements, just the first attempt at bringing the idea to life. It was rough, unbalanced, and missing structure, but it sparked the foundation for everything that came next.
Prototype II
The second version was the first feedback loop. We began reaching out to chefs around the world, collecting survey responses and hopping on calls to understand exactly what they needed. This version started shaping the pockets, structure, and functionality based on chef insight.
Prototype III
The third version took the feedback further as we brought the roll into kitchens, met chefs in person, and tested it in the environments it was built for. Every adjustment came from hands-on use, sharpening the design, layout, and functionality in ways surveys alone couldn’t.

The final roll is where everything came together, the materials, structure, and design shaped by months of chef feedback and real-world testing. Every element was refined with purpose, resulting in a knife roll built to last a lifetime in the kitchen and on the road.
